The Kerem Tunnel provides a unique riding experience and hiking experience which is enjoyed by everyone.
The Kerem Tunnel, Israel's newest cycle tunnel, is constructed as a part of a 42-kilometer cycle route that circles the capital.

נווה פריצקי The tunnel links the paths between Nahal Refaim and Emek Motza. The tunnel's southern entrance is located within Refaim Park below Ein Laban. While the northern entrance is located in Nahal Ein Kerem about half one kilometer from the Kerem junction.

Elkin's Ministry Elkin's Ministry, the Tourism Ministry, Jerusalem Municipality and the Gihon Corporation all contributed to the project. The Jerusalem Development Authority completed the work.

"The Kerem Tunnel project is an essential tool to realize the vision to change the concept of transportation in Jerusalem," Elkin emphasized. "The new tunnel, which will connect to the lengthy Jerusalem Ring Path, will connect the existing bike pathways in the city, as well as those that are paved in the various neighborhoods with the aim of encouraging cycling among its residents and its visitors as well as promoting the green revolution of transportation in Jerusalem."

The Kerem Tunnel first was excavated in the 1990s to create an important sewer line for the Gihon Corporation towards Sorek. It is currently used as an infrastructure Tunnel that includes the fifth waterline to Jerusalem via the Mekorot water corporation.

The current works include road construction, installation of blowers, as well as advanced security and electrical systems to make the tunnel safe for people to walk through at all times of the year.

Kerem Tunnel Kerem Tunnel provides access to unique recreation locations, including Ein Kerem neighbourhood, the biblical aquarium and zoo as well as the natural springs of historical significance Ein Haniyeh, Ein Laban and Ein Haniyeh.
